When the wind at your back feels like more than a whisper of air, and the leaves shutter at dusk as the beating sun retreats into the shadows, you may just come across a vampire out for a stroll. Vampires have held a place in our culture for many years and have altered their roles over time. Some are scary and some will show us the greatest love we’ve ever known. With anticipation of the release of the newest Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part I, our latest contest urges you to fantasize about your favorite vampire date. Do you dream about being whisked away in the arms of Edward Cullen, or are you drawn to the dangerous bite of Lestat de Lioncourt? From books to theater characters, we want to know who you think is the best. Leave a comment below telling us who your dream date vampire would be. Then, click on the official contest link to be entered to for a chance to win a darkly-romantic goody bag, which includes a hand-painted Russian artist pendant. You’ll also get a sparkling red Swarovski crystal heart pendant, lovely lampwork beads and a copy of the beadweaving book Bead Romantique: Elegant Beadweaving Designs so you can create your own Victorian-style jewelry. Frank A. Langella in the title role of the 1977 Broadway production of Dracula, as well as in the subsequent film version directed by John Badham.

Spike, during his crazy days before he went all nice & soppy. I am definitely a Drusilla.

  1. I’ve always been a vampire girl, ever since I could read! I do have to admit that I haven’t been very impressed with the Twilight series, but I would let Angel or Spike bite me in a heart beat!

Also, I saw that someone mentioned Asher from Anita Blake, and oh my, yes to him as well!!

I could go and on! lol

  2. I love way too many vampires from all genres to even begin to list my favorite but here are a couple I would “die” to go out with. (OK, bad humor 🙂 )

I’ve always loved Angel from Buffy because he had two sides to who he really was. When he’s good, I’d definitely love to spend eternity with him.

I read Anita Blake’s series as well and am highly intrigued by Jean Claude the vampire. I mean, come on…he’s French! Hel-lo! lol On top of that, he enjoys watching his date eat food and enjoy it. How many guys can you say that about? Chocolate and cheesecake on your date anyone? 🙂

I have to go with Angel too – all the broody darkness of a vampire in a package that won’t kill you (most likely). Or Eric Northman, because there’s something awesome about a viking.

I do have to agree with one of the first comments – the first dracula himself and I would be at his mercy

  3. My dream date would have to be my love Michael as a vampire. He has this look that is completely dominating and very sexy.
Sat across from him, catching his gaze suddenly has my heart racing, my tummy fills with butterflies and it’s as if the whole world has slowed down to a silent stand still. The sound of my heart beating seems to get stronger and louder amid the silence of the room.
Michael can hear every beat like a distant drum getting closer and closer, our eyes are transfixed almost peering into eachothers very souls until we can no longer resist our bodies becoming one and share the very thing that keeps us alive….Our blood!
