I find that for most of my designs I let the components speak to me, if I’m making anything involving beads or precast metal I find an element that I really like and then create a design around that. For the rest of my designs I find inspiration from the world around me, it can be something as simple as a plant to a line in a story or a song lyric that makes my imagination run wild creating new ideas/designs.

  1. I go through phases… right now, I’m busy working with sea glass while I wait for a silver smithing class in a couple of weeks. I totally have the torch bug, since it lets me make my own pieces that are truly unique and handmade, not just a bunch of “assembled” components.

  2. Vintage family and my grandmother’s jewelry are what I am drawing inspiration from for my jewelry making right now.

Trends, colours and the products themselves tend to influence the direction designs go. Right now, I’m using a lot of vintage beads and components picked up at estate sales.

  3. Having the need to come up with something different for Christmas gifts this year. This would help a lot!

What inspires me is trying to create something different to go with the personalities of such a diverse group of people. I don’t like to make the same thing over and over, so it makes my creations fun and original, with a lot of thought going into each piece.

This stuff reminds me of Steampunk-ideas taken from Victorian jewelry-watch parts, chains, gears. Very cool all mixed together.

Lately I’ve been designing a lot of antique-looking pieces, using things I find in nature like small stones or shells (which I sometimes paint), antiqued metals, jewelry pieces I find at estate sales, and the like. I like to combine unique pieces into something you wouldn’t be able to purchase at the mall, and Nunn designs fit into that beautifully. Would love to win.

I am inspired by the sparkle of snow in the sunlight…a rainbow of colors!

  6. Family inspires me this time of year. I love making handmade gifts for them. They are not just jewelry pieces to them. They are family heirlooms. And I love Nunn Designs. Nuff said! 🙂

I love the sparkle of snowflakes, although I don’t see them here in Florida! The crisp, clean look of everything in the winter with freshly fallen snow makes me think of all things sparkly!! I love making jewelry!

Some many things can be made with this1

  7. The thought of family, friends, and the online customers we have never met are our inspiration. We love creating beautful pieces of art, especially from our Nunn Design pendants. As we make our jewelry, it brings us great joy to think of people from all around the world gathering this holiday season, hopefully wearing a Studio 463 design!

My inspiration for designing during the Nov. & Dec. months comes from all things wonderful about living in the Pacific NW during this time of year: warm fire in the hearth, coffee in my cup, wind blowing the fall leaves around, black turtle neck shirts, and the rain/sometimes frost outside. These things remind me to get create with mixed metals in rich tones with the pretty earthy products of Nunn’s designs.

Nature is the ultimate inspiration – flowers, trees, sunshine, changing seasons – what more could I ask for? This is a beautiful collection to inspire me even further. And then I have the opportunity to share my inspirations and designs with others. I believe I am truly blessed.

My inspiration is the season’s of fall and winter. I love the colors of fall and being able to incorporate rustic colors into my designs. I also love crystals that remind me of icy and frosty winter mornings, all sparkles and clean. Nunn’s designs has a lot to offer.

  8. To me the holidays mean color and sparkle. Bright flashes and eye catching pieces.

Nunn’s designs are so stunning and inspirational. The mind wanders in that creative facet to imagine all the different elements, textures, colors, and patterns and how to incorporate, blend and embellish new and unique pieces to give, share and perhaps once in a while… keep.

I’ve never seen Nunn Designs before. Would love to see them, and work with them. Hope you can pick me, I’m making a gift for a little girl who has stage 4 cancer. By the looks of the stuff I believe it will add some more sparkle to the gift.

  9. I never know what will inspire me. Sometimes I just sit at my table and see two items near each other in my pile of stuff and something clicks in that creative part of my brain. Other times, I will see the colors in a fall tree, or the hues of a winter sky, and start to imagine how to recreate that beauty in a piece of wearable art! I have recently begun to love metal more and more; Nunn Designs components are very inspiring!

Nature inspires my creative side and I try to match a person with a design, coming from a large family ( I am one out of seven as well as my husband) so I certainly make a variety of themes and colors. It is so wonderful to see them wear my pieces and I’ve donated a few pieces to our local cancer society when they have their annual brunch. Thanks for the opportunity to win some great stuff – I admit I hope I win!

My inspiration this season is actually is morbid…in a good way. Im working on a necklace called “Ode to Death”. I have lost many friends these last few months , so i wanted to design a piece to highlight all the fears and beliefs about it.Its a dark piece but i think it could help others deal with such a sad times in their lifes

I’m inspired to make people happy and feel better about themselves when they wear my designs!

  10. I paint a lot of landscape so nature and photography inspires me but for the holidays I’m doing a lot of hand painted ornaments and my children and friends inspire me, I’m always asking them for new ideas. Also the classic Christmas favorites, what better way to get inspired then to watch an old Christmas classic.

I’ve been inspired by black, grey and silver lately and have created some really nice pieces!

  11. Spending time with my family is what inspires me. I want my jewelry to look warm and inviting, just like how my family makes me feel. In winter, everything should feel cozy.

I am inspired by the sparkling colors of the season, no matter which one it is!!!

  12. I’m inspired my nature, especially the beach! I love the colors and textures. I really enjoy mixing refined textures of faceted crystals and gemstones with raw natural textures of wood, feathers, and rough gemstones.
I’m also inspired by my aunt and several family friends who have battled breast cancer, some losing.
