Win a Copy of Beading Across America

Beading Across America Book

Beading Across America is a book full of beautiful jewelry designs from 30 bead artists in the United States, including authors Paulette Baron, Amy Katz and Sherry Serafini. It is sorted by 5 regions: the Northeast, the South, the Midwest, the Southwest and the Northwest. The bead artists showcase their love of seed beads through their original designs and its fun to see the different styles from across the country.

With each design, you’ll find detailed instructions on how to create the piece yourself. If you want to learn beadweaving or bead embroidery, or even if you’re already an expert, this book has something for all skill levels starting from beginner to advanced. The supplies and materials are listed too; you’ll find most of them in our Seed Bead category! There is also a very helpful stitch tutorial guide to show you how to do stitches such as Herringbone, Peyote and Beaded backstitch. You can learn how to make bezels around cabochons and crystal rivolis too!

Visit the Beading Across America Facebook page for more pictures, information and book signing dates. At the book signing dates you can meet the artist, see the piece in person, get your book autographed and other fun things!

I would love to win this book so that I could get my creative juices flowing, and to know how to make quality jewelry. There are so many things I don’t know about starting and finishing jewelry; making sure I am using the correct wire and findings, etc. Thank you for the chance of winning this book!

I’ve been beading for only about a year and have an eclectic range of styles–mostly of which find me for their expression. So, what inspires me is hard to confine to one book. However, I enjoy the making of beads from polymer into jewelry and other items. The main book I use for that is “Faux Surfaces in Polymer Clay” by Irene Semanchuk Dean. The others are two by Donna Kato: “The Art of Polymer Clay…..”. I aspire to meet her standards of truly beautiful pieces. I love swirley wires (“Inspired Wire” by Cynthia B. Wuller) but have yet to explore it. What intrigues me about “Beading Across America” the words ‘Peyote’, ‘Herringbone’, ‘bezels around cobochons’ because I’ve tried via U-tube and hands-on and don’t feel successful in it. I want more guidance in how to accomplish a beautiful piece of work that I’ve seen from others. I am so inspired by color and a book with beautiful color is one that frees up my mind and transports me into more exploration in making beautiful pieces of work.

I would love to have this book! I think my favorite bead author is Robin Atkins. Beaded Embellishment and Heart to Hands Bead Embroidery are my favorites. She has been so giving to the beading community, particularly by starting the Bead Journal Project, which I participated in for two years. I was too busy last year, and did not sign up for this year, but hope to get back into it in the future.

I just got “Beading with Crystals: Beautiful Jewelry, Simple Techniques” by Katherine Duncan Aimone and Jean Campbell. I really like it. Beautiful projects, and instructions appear to be well thought out from what I can see so far! Another book I love, for its inspiration, is “The Beader’s Color Palette” by Margie Deeb. It really shows how to look at something that you like and create your own palette out of it.

My favorit book is “Seed Bead Savvy, by Lesley Weiss”.

I like any book that deals with the seed beads. Because I love to do alot of seed bead weaving. I only have beed working with the beads for about 2 years now. My friend got me into this as a passtime but now I am doing this so I can make my family and friends nice things to wear. Also I do Craft Shows to sell my items. So this book would be a nice addition to my library.
