I think in jewelry making, the hot thing will be designing with the laser cut shell or aluminum pendants. They’d look really great with all the baggy linen clothes out this summer.

Turquoise is always a summer classic. Pairing it with some bold red and orange corals is sure to be a great summer trend. Add some chain and metal links…It really brightens up any wardrobe.

I think fringe earrings (chains), bib necklaces, lots of wire, big and colorful beads, and of course the new rose gold which is a combination of silver and gold…making it rose gold. Also the natural look will be in this summer. Shells, wood and gemstones will be popular.

I think it’s feathers. A co-worker of mine came in today with a feather woven into her hair. And they make great earrings and necklaces as well!

Looks like lots of chains in multi strands and a variety of materials are hot. I also noticed that pearls, again multiple strands in a variety of colors were big on Cape Cod when I was there last week.

I think we’ll be seeing a lot more blues of varying shades. Teal, turquoise, royal, navy… shades that remind us of tropical waters of our dream vacation spots. To accent these colors we may see shades of the greenery that surround these tropical escapes- sea green, peridot, jade green, fresh bamboo. We will also see the eye-popping shades of the tasty cocktails that make every vacation extra special- watermelon margarita pink, mimosa peach, green appletini, lemon daquri, all of which are bright and bold!

I also see high-polished silver, polished to an almost white sheen and lots of sparkle. No more saving our most glittering gems and jewels for evening. We will be wearing them out in the day so we can outshine the sun!

Bright, bold colors on neutral background. I think jewelry will continue to trend toward big & chunky, multi-strand, multiple bangles.

I think the biggest trend for summer is going to be big beautiful bracelets. I think a lot of people will be looking for turquoise blue with silver. When I get an order it is usually for this combination.

Hot Jewelry Trends I believe with be the colors of the ocean- blues, greens, off white. Turquoise will be popular in a variety of shapes, colors & styles. Feathers incorporated into jewelry & hair accessories. Clothing in teals, corals, pinks and white will be seen this summer.

I hope whatever I make will be a trend. I love beach themed bracelets and a necklace with white sponge coral puff coins and pink coral rounds is both casual and classic. Turquoise is always nice with Hill Tribe silver. I also have several “bee” designs in mind. Yellow and black with very cool and unique findings. A splash of “wine tasting” pieces should cover this summer for me and I hope for my customers also. I don’t try being to “trendy”. I want my designs to be loved forever and not worn once and tossed into a drawer and forgotten.

i have to agree with Turquoise still holding the number one with summer colors…but, i’m seeing a lot of yellow, too…maybe combine them both with silver for a bangle of simple necklace. I should get on that now!

I think of something you can wear into and out of the water so hemp stung necklaces in bright colors with shells or beads and then linen is always a classic for summer with neutral beaded necklaces and earrings and bracelets. As for color trends I hear greens will be a top color trend. With the varied shades of green you can come up with your own color trend! Hope you have a great summer!!!

I have read all 137 answers; and, I have to admit that #137; Lori, above, has come up with nearly every style that I was going to mention! However, I will then have to make my answer a little more unique. I have read that things are moving so quickly these days that the fashion “trends” change “every two weeks!” Because of this reality, I have come to the conclusion that nearly any style that you can think up is now, or will be “in style.” I haven’t begun to sell my pieces yet (I’m learning metalwork, repairs, & stone-setting; and, I’m just beginning to take a jewelry design & beading course). However, I get just about every major clothes, jewelry, & shoe catalog (I forgot pocketbooks, tote bags; let’s just say accessories) there is. What I predict to be the major color trends of this Summer in clothes, are: Every shade of green that can be thought up; bright red; & I’d say yellow. Orange has been huge in every season for the past two or three years & will be again. International color palettes such as Asian-pink with orange is popular now; Euro colors-mustard yellow; chili pepper red; olive green and/or khaki colors are really catching on; Southeast Asian colors-oranges, browns, brick reds, & tans. As Lori stated above Linen is huge. We are really becoming a global-like country now with all kinds of foreign country influences & fashions of different time periods. I cannot ignore that Victorian everything has been like the biggest clothes & jewelry influence I have seen for the past several years. I must agree with Lori once again; that I believe jewelry using shells, wood, coarse fibers such as hemp, twine? etc. Bright colors are huge now; but, I see neutrals as trending this summer (perhaps things have been too bright lately for some), so I see the opposite coming up. I think bright colors must have become so popular because of our worst Winter on record (we had 9 snowstorms or ‘blizzards’ here on the East Coast alone). I see kind of a backlash or “reaction” to stuff that’s really bright & big & bold, & jewelry will go back to very feminine &/or dainty & less will be more. One trend I can’t believe that no one has mentioned yet is the huge Nautical influence. All kinds of sailor striped, polos, boat-necked, & jewel-necked etc. shirts; French sailor shirts (my favorite); nautical pants with sailor silver & gold buttons etc. Red, White & Blue + Kelly green; jeans & jean jackets. In jewelry, I predict that starfish, sand dollars, sea biscuits, corals, sea horses, fish, dolphins, & whales; nautical knotted twine will be The biggest trend for the Summer. One more thing; mesh jewelry (metal).

I forgot about Evil Eye or eyes! beads; and, Eye of Horus-Egyptian jewelry! I want to get something with as many different colors of little eyes as I can. LOL By the way, the Evil Eye jewelry is supposed to ward off anything or anyone evil from you & therefore bring you good luck. I’ll have to read about the Eye of Horus; I’m not sure what it’s a symbol of. It’s now 6AM here in CT; but, I’m a night owl, so it’s nothing unusual!

Influences of 70’s boho chic and 80’s chunky brights. Feather accents. Turquois & coral. Stacked bracelets with mixed materials- bright colored beads, mixed metals and wood. Leather woven pieces. As we move into fall/winter, this will move toward more refined translations of the summer trends, adding in jewel tones and metalic pearls.

the 80s are coming back.. its going to be bright colors, chunky earrings and bangles and long necklaces. Mixed with lots of whites to give the cool touch. I am thinking neutral toned makeup with lots of colorful accessaries… I hope the long skirts n maxis continue to stay. The 80s sunglasses (square glasses with colorful frames) will be seen alot too.

Lots of mixed media designs as well as jewelry done in natural items like pearls and jade but dyed funky colors as well as lots of iridescent /AB type crystals to throw rainbows all over a room! In Seattle, it is FEATHERS!! all kinds of combinations. The pro shops in downtown report that they cannot keep the tie flying feathers in the shop and that certain ones are completly exhausted from suppliers. Peacock, Roosters, Exotic bird, imported and local. Gives your piece a very unusual look and picks up hues that match more than one wardrobe. 🙂

I’ve been sketching out necklace/bracelet sets that can be worn separately or combined. I’m using about an 18 (maybe 16) gauge wire for a main strong geometric pattern, with dangles of lighter wires repeating the pattern, but highlighted with beads and crystals depending on the length. Color combinations will be initially blues and greens for the ocean, but I would love to work some up in gold filled wire with some various tourmaline colored beads and crystals…think that would be beautiful…of course, anything goes with gold! I’m going to have FUN making them so that’s the best part! Happy creating to all 🙂
