My thoughts on trends for the summer are that there will be very little use of higher priced metals. In metals there will be more use of brass, copper, gun metal steel, and it will be smaller designer pieces. In stones, it will be natural but brighter colors, such as dyed magnisite, amazonite, turquoise, and other stones such as that. I also feel that it will be a type of jewelry with a big pendant style necklace with small coordinated beads to go on either side placed on silk cord or ribbon, instead of chain. These are quick and easy to make, plus the cost is not that expensive. So happy beading everyone!

Chunky raw stones such as geodes, agate slices, druzy, crystals etc. Shades of turquoise and orange, paired together or on their own.

I expect to see lots of bright colors, especially pinks & oranges (corals, etc) paired with whites and some natural/organic elements like wood, cork or fibers. I picture long and lean designs in both clothing and jewelry/accessories with some flowing elements.

  2. Memory wire bracelets with size 6 seed beads in an array of fun colors. Big bold beads and jewelry that stands out!

Think “Summer of Love”. Boho bling (Chains, gemstone chunks, distressed metals and crystals)
Peasant blouses, strapy leather sandles, short dirndles, feathers and everything popular in the summer of 1972, the Summer of LOVE.

For the beach I think that necklaces like the tropical queen will be very popular. It would not be too hot to wear and it would make a girl with bathing suit look like a tropical queen.I that it would be perfect for the beach.

I think this year’s Summer colours will be bright:- greens, reds, yellows, blues – to bring cheer and hope into our lives after all the natural disasters that have happened around the world. Using those colours, I will be making Memory Wire Bracelets which will wind around the arm several times to give to friends to celebrate Summer.

Royal blue is on trend, but it’s almost classic–it looks good on just about any skin color and isn’t limited to just one or two seasons.

Shades of pink that are brighter and orangier, as well. There’s a shade of pink that works for everyone, so it’s very user-friendly.

Corals, Pinks, Turquoise and Lime Greens paired with natural metals like brass, oxidized silver and larger pieces like lampwork and filagree work. Layered is in the more strands the better especially for bracelets! Mixed Media will work for this like chain, tube beads, and hand dyed silk!

I think we will be seeing a lot more mixed metals and cold connections. Especially copper and silver together with ocean blue and coral colored gemstones.

lightweight, colorful aluminum jump hoop (similar to chain maile) bracelets, earrings. Any kind of trim attached to flip flops which will allow them to be worn any time.

People don’t have a lot of $ and want something inexpensive, trendy, and light weight.

I think beaded embroidery will be big over the summer and into the fall. I also hope to see more chainmaille designs. What is more elegant for very little investment and who can’t open and close a jump ring?

I think a lot of fabric/beaded jewelry is what we’ll see. I am finding lots of interest in my jewelry that is woven or “intricate”. Silk ribbon with pendants also seem to be getting a lot of interest. As always where I live the colors of turquoise, pale sand and blue water is the staple, with a little bit of pink or orange for sunsets.

  12. Feathers seem to be everywhere, fibers – suede and leather are also becoming popular.

I see lots of bright colors. I see a bohemian style. I like the feathers. I see loads of fiber and alternate stringing materials. I see people going toward mixes of metals instead of just relying on silver with the price increases. I see cuffs and bangles and layered looks.
    Enjoy the day!
