3-Day Earring Weekend – Day One

It’s a 3-day earring weekend on the Artbeads Blog for Beaders! Artbeads co-owner and chief jewelry designer Cynthia loves to design—in fact, even when she was sick a couple of weeks ago, designing was her therapy. This weekend we’ll showcase one new earring idea each day that you can try at home with some of our most beautiful components.

Today’s earrings were made using the new Swarovski 3200G 1/2 matte rivoli sew-on stones from their Fall/Winter Innovations. When Cynthia saw the new rivoli stones, she knew she had to make earrings with them—and it’s no surprise why when you see these lovely crystals in person. Gather up your components first: two 14mm rivolis in Crystal Luminous Green and two 10mm rivolis in Rose Peach, two sterling silver circle links with cut-out center and Swarovski crystals, two sterling silver tiny round charms with Swarovski crystals, two sterling silver French hook earwires with ball and coil, and four sterling silver open jump rings (1.00×6.10mm).

We’ll give you the instructions on how to make one earring, and then you can repeat the steps to finish the pair!

1: Attach one jump ring to each of the stringing holes on one 14mm stone and one 10mm stone (we have a great Handy Tip video that shows how to open and close a jump ring).
2: Connect one jump ring on the 10mm stone to one tiny round charm and connect the other jump ring to one end of one circle link.
3: Connect one jump ring from the 14mm stone to the other end of the circle link.
4: Attach the 14mm stone’s other jump ring to the bottom of one earwire.

Just repeat these steps to make the second earring and you’re done! Come back tomorrow for our next earring idea.
