Fall in Love with the Beauty of Autumn

When your footsteps crunch from the falling leaves, you smell the sweetness in the crisp air, and drips of sunlight provide a pleasant moment of escape from the cold shady spots, you know fall has arrived. Even though this is the season for cozy sweaters and boots, you can still create hot jewelry to match the scenery. Autumn is one of the best times to gather inspiration for designs, since everything is in transition and no two days are alike. We’ll explore some elements to help get you thinking of what you can create.

The changing leaves are what most people imagine when they think of fall. A mixture of fir green, burnt orange and sun-kissed red would look amazing against a chocolaty brown neutral, or even a golden champagne hue. Experiment with freshwater pearls in antique brown and cream shades. You could even create a design based on your favorite fall flower, like the dahlia or marigold. Play up the dimension in your pieces with floral accents and leaf shapes!

You can smell fall coming, too. Play off of this feeling by representing different autumn scents in jewelry, like apple, cinnamon or pumpkin spice. Punch up the impact with a cider-colored focal or create a mix of white and brown to look like a pumpkin spiced latte. Have fun with your senses when making jewelry for fall, like we did with our Cinnamon and Sugar Earrings featured in the image above.

Discover what will inspire you today—take a walk outside, rain or shine, and embrace the elements around you. You might be surprised at what nature tells you to create. Marissa, I wait all year for pumpkin spice… from latte and cream to bread (with cream cheese frosting – to.die.for!) 🙂 This year has been the best colors of autumn we’ve had in years! It’s been beautiful!

Love that copper leaf you feature! The colors are stunning!
