Winter Color Palettes to Inspire Your Creations

Color Inspiration

Winter is the perfect time to make jewelry. Handmade designs make great Christmas presents for your friends and family and it’s too cold to go outside, anyway. You might as well cozy up by a nice fire and start creating. Before you get started, we’re here to share color inspiration for your next winter projects. Red and green is a great color combination to get started, as our Chestnuts and Cinnamon bracelet palette shows. Keep reading to dive into other great palettes and make sure to find out how you could win a pouch full of winter-themed beads at the end of this post!

Besides red and green, icy blue colors are a popular choice for the winter season. Our Atlantis Nights bracelet provides a bold twist on this wintry color scheme by adding in a dash of dramatic black. The black really makes the blue tones pop. This is the perfect color palette for elegant pieces you’ll want to wear to the next holiday party.

For a color palette that will put you in mind of snow-capped mountains and frozen rivers, look to our Frosty Filigree Color Party. Inspired by the colors of one of our Artbeads Designer Seed Bead Blends, this color palette includes glistening snow white and silver colors, icy clear crystal, and gleaming hints of black and gold.

Icy blues and Frosty Filigree can certainly make your style cool, but winter is also a great time to add warmth in your jewelry. This color palette, inspired by these Copper Thicket earrings, combines blush and peach tones with the rich beauty of a deep brass color. These colors are perfect for making the kind of jewelry that will match your rosy cheeks on a horse-drawn sleigh ride.

Of course, you can always combine warm and cool tones for your next winter design. Our Merlot Gardens necklace brings sweet burgundy and mauve tones together with cool blues and silvers. They’re the perfect colors for sipping spiced cider while snow starts to fall. As this particular necklace shows, you can totally add floral elements to your winter jewelry. It’s a fun reminder that spring will soon return!

We recently came up with this winter color palette over on our Instagram page for our #ArtbeadsAdventCalendar challenge (learn all about our Instagram challenge counting down to Christmas in this blog post). It’s inspired by the beautiful purple, brown, and pale blue colors found in the Dakota Stones purple bronzite impression jasper beads at the center. We used a combination of Velvet Brown, Pearlescent White, and Platinum Swarovski pearls, along with Black Diamond Shimmer, Crystal CAL, Crystal Lilac Shadow, and Crystal AB 2x bicones. The addition of 8mm Alexandrite AB Fire-Polished beads completes this sophisticated winter look.

You have the chance to win your own beads in a glamorous winter color palette. Cynthia hand-picked these beads for the winter season and one lucky winner will win the beads and the pouch they come in. These colors are perfect for Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve bashes or any other winter event. Just visit our Giveaways page to learn how to enter for your chance to win these beauties.
