Did you know we have over 6,000 different kinds of Czech glass beads on our website? That’s so many colors, shapes, and textures to play with in your jewelry designs. Our latest Artbeads Cafe episode was a special Facebook Live session all about Czech glass! In the episode, Cheri and Cynthia make jewelry on the fly with unique Czech glass bead shapes to inspire you. You can win some of the Czech glass and pendants the ladies worked with during our giveaway! Make sure to read to the end of the post to find out how.
In this video, there are lots of beautiful Czech glass beads on display, along with findings that Cynthia picked out to use alongside them. That’s the beauty of Czech glass. They are versatile beads that make charming accents to any kind of component. Here’s a closer look at some of the beads on the table:
From gleaming fire-polished beads and smooth rounds to playful flowers and drops, there were lots of inspiring choices on the table. Cheri started off designing with pear-shaped Czech glass drops. She makes messy wrapped loops on the tops of the beads to add them to her necklace strand. You can see even more tips on how to make messy wraps in our tutorial video. Cynthia picked up dagger beads and old style drops first and experimented by pairing them with a lovely brass dragonfly pendant. Then, she had fun with goddess beads. If you’re looking for more inspiration, we’ve had fun with these shapes in previous jewelry ideas from our Design Studio, too.
Cynthia made some cute goddess bead earrings with chain tassels in her Athena’s Triumph set. Becky also made some cute messy wrapped loop dangles with Czech glass pear drops in her Mint Julep set. Cynthia’s Lady Dragonfly pieces are a great showcase for dangling dagger beads.
Our Czech glass Artbeads Cafe episode was tons of fun and now we want to give away some Czech glass beads so you can play with these unique beads. Cynthia picked out some drops, rounds, melon beads, and coin shapes along with the dragonfly pendant she used in the episode and a beautiful Gardanne Beads pendant. I have used Czech glass beads in earrings and in a bracelet. For the earrings I used a Czech glass drop with Czech Twin Beads, and seed beads for spacing. For the bracelet, I just used the Czech glass Twin Beads with the seed beads in between. Thank you for the videos, and keeping us inspired! So many beads, so little time!
I have used my Czech glass twin beads by stringing them along with seed beads. I have made one using gold twin beads, one with silver twin beads, and one with pink twin beads. The silver bracelet is definitely a go-to-bracelet for me. I love it!!! It would be fun to get some other varieties of Czech glass beads to try.
The beads are so wonderful. I have used the drops more than others.

I can’t believe there was ever a time when I turned my eyes away from Czech glass…the misguided youth of jewelry making; you know, the thinking if it isn’t a real gemstone bead, it’s not worth the money and doesn’t have a place in my design. Oh, how happy I am to have grown and learned. Have so many favorites (loving the pear-shaped drops in all colors) and can’t get enough Czech glass now!
I love to use Czech beads! They work so well in my bracelets… I use them frequently!

To work with Czech beads is to work with true beauty.
Czech beads are luscious! Colors are beautiful in variations, shapes, and numerous possibilities. Raven’s Journey has captured my heart! They are my inspiration ❤
I LOVE all Czech glass beads; any size, finish, colour or shape!! I will use Czech Glass beads in my designs as focal pieces, spacer beads, or designs that are purely Czech Glass, these include earrings, tassels, bracelets, anklets & necklaces. Quite often I will also use Czech glass beads with gemstones as they make really beautiful spacers beads and can add some real sparkle and texture to designs. I’ve been experimenting lately in learning how to make dream catchers, and so incorporating these beautiful beads to add some real sparkle and fun!!
Here’s what I have to say about Czech beads… I’m thankful that they come in many sizes, sheen & colors! I particularly like the fire polished beads for that extra touch. It’s all about the quality, I believe Czech beads are beads that stands out above the rest.
Cynthia
