My favourite go-to necklace is one I made with black oval onyx stones spaced with sterling silver round beads. It is just a bit longer than a choker and goes with everything, adding a nice finishing touch to just about any outfit. Simple elegance. I also adore dangle earrings, especially ones made with Swarovski crystals. Just love the sparkle!

I made a necklace with an oval crystal cal Swarovski ring, a silver and swarovski crystal filigree piece, with two strands of shiny silver chain and one strand of crystal rhinestone chain. I was described as the ‘girl wearing the sparkly necklace’ once while wearing it. I cannot think of a better compliment! 🙂

My custom designed wedding ring is my favorite, special piece! It contains the gold from my dad’s wedding band, plus diamonds from my husband. It’s gorgeous, and never fails to get attention! I also adore fresh water pearls and use them in many of my necklace and bracelet creations-they are so special and have an updated, funky look!

For meaningfulness, I wopuld choose my wedding ring set & my 20th year anniversary ring, for they both stand for love, enduring love. But that’s not the question. You asked what piece made us feel glamorous? For me, it’s a tie between a statement necklace I made mtse3lf, or my own chandelier earrings, with lots of sparkle & pretty stones. Like for Christmas, I made a matching set in freshwater pearls, end drilled, with some lovely faceted real garnet, garnet rounds, crystal ab accents, and silver. Simply smashing, and works with so much! And I feel so glamorous, like an old-time movie star- but clasdsy. Think Grace Kelly- still an icon, even after all these years. Now THAT’s glamor!!

I have a psalm23 handmade beaded bracelet that my uncle gave me before he passed away from liver cancer a few years ago. Each colored bead stands for one of the verses in the psalm. There is a prayer box and a cross charm that dangle from this bracelet and it always makes me feel complete when I put it on. I started making handmade beaded jewelry when my uncle was diagnosed with cancer and the psalm23 bracelet is now one of my signature pieces that I get a lot of orders for!

I made a macrame necklace years ago with two blue beads on it. I didn’t have enough hemp, and it didn’t fit well, so a little over a year later, I took it apart, made a new necklace from new (natural-colored) hemp, and put those beads on again, spaced so that I could put a pendant between them if I ever found one. About 8 or 9 months later, I finally found a cheap pendant at Walmart that was the same shade of blue and has a sort of lacy metal piece coming over it. It’s cheap, and in fact has had to be repaired already, but every time I wear it I get more compliments on that than any other piece of jewelry I own, including the fine jewelry I have. Even my two-year-old nephew tells me he likes my necklace every time I wear it!

My wedding ring is the most beautiful peice of jewerly I own, ever though it’s just a plain small band of gold, it never comes off. the other peice that never comes off is a small gold ID braclet that belonged to my grandmother, with her initails and the year she got it which just happens to be the year I was born 🙂

I made a bracelet using the Swarovski Squares (4439) and sterling silver jump rings which alternate (rings, squares). I also used a swivel clasp so that it would be easier to put on whether I decided to wear on my left or right wrist. I liked the bracelet so much, I made it in all the different colors so I have about 12 of them! I get compliments on it every time I wear. 🙂

My go-to-glamour piece is actually a pair of earrings: I made hammered one large and one smaller Sterling Silver circle, suspended them one under another with a jumpring, then hung a single deep citrine stone beneath.
They’re sparkly, modern, and make me smile! Love ’em.

My Stairway To Heaven ring, blue sapphires and diamonds. Rarely take it off. Feel real special when I wear my GRANDFATHERS EARRINGS! I was 14 and he said if I got my ears pierced I could have his best and favourite earrings. (I was his favourite grandchild because I am the image of my Grandmother) I got my ears pierced and I could hardly wait to go show Him!!! They lived a few hours away so we were going for the weekend in 2 weeks! My Grandfather died that week. He didn’t get to see my pierced ears. My heart was broken. After His Service we were at the house and my Gram took me aside and passed me a little blue box. She said “Your Grandfather wanted you to have these” and inside was a pair of beautiful little gold hoops! She added her beautiful Cameo Earrings that Grampy had bought her!!! I wore the Hoops on my Wedding Day and some family funerals. I wore Grams Cameo Earrings to her Funeral and burial. I am very careful with them but I wear them on extra special occasions and when I do I feel so loved!!!

I’ve enjoyed reading each of these heart-felt stories about precious items. Jewelry is such a visible expression of who we are and how we feel about ourselves. As one who wouldn’t walk the dogs without earrings, I can’t say I have just one Go-To piece for glamour. If I’m stepping out, it’s going to be Swarovski for major light play!
