  1. The only one I want nibbling my neck is my husband, so I will pass on the vampire. Joe has a certain magical charm that makes me melt in his arms and submit to his kiss. Give me romance!!! He would HAVE to have me and WORK to get me, and buy me some really sexy clothes to wear on our date. And not Bite — hard!

  2. Well, who doesn’t love Edward??!!

One of my favorite expressions is “Bite Me!” Damon Salvatore (Vampire Diaries) or Eric (True Blood) would definitely do the trick for me 🙂

  3. Mmmmmmmm .. Edward of course.

I love twilight n true blood..but when I was younger Angel was the hottest vampire around!

    • Elena
    • November 13, 2011

I would love to be pursued by Eric from True Blood. To be able to captivate and toy with a vampire that is unafraid to indulge his cruel side is a very tempting proposition.

Barnabas Collins, the original Dark Shadows vampire. Rushed home everyday after school to catch this ongoing gothic horror soap opera.

“I vant to suck your blood.” Count Dracula, of course!

  4. Tough choice! I’m torn between Lestat and Damon from the Vampire Diaries. Bad boys are so much more fun. 🙂

My first favorite vampire was Barnabas Collins from the original Dark Shadows series. Of the movie versions I would have to say Frank Langella. He was one suave and sexy vampire.

    • Lauren Peterson
    • November 13, 2011

I would go with Edward Cullen, because he’s so romantic and caring. Maybe too overprotective, but it’s nice to feel taken care of sometimes.

I vote for Barnabas, from the vintage soap opera “Dark Shadows”:=

I spent my teen years watching Barnabus Collins on Dark Shadows & thought he was so mysterious and interesting. When my daughter was in high school she became interested in the history of vampire literature and I became fascinated with each vampire she read about. Now that she is in college, we watch the old reruns of Dark Shadows together when she comes home for a weekend or holiday – I guess you could say we have a “mother-daughter vampire thing.” While I have been fascinated by every vampire, Barnabus is still my first love – there are so many questions I would want to ask him and things I would love to learn. Our date would last way past sunrise if only he could…

My first thought was Angel, but then…Spike. Have to go with Spike-he’s a lot more fun!

Like so many others here, I prefer to keep it old school — Nosferatu gets my vote. A vampire who can give you chills without saying a word? Perfect.

After reading all of the post, I didn’t realize there we’re so many vampires out there to choose from, so whats a girl to do ? Go out with all of them. lol

    Angel

  5. Barnabus Collins is by far the most awesome vampire ever. I used to rush home from elementary school so I would be on time to watch Dark Shadows. It had enough romance in it to make a young girl dream about something like that could really happen.

There is something about Eric on True Blood that makes me overly aware of the pulsing in my own neck.

    • November 13, 2011

I HATE the Twilight franchise, grrrrr! And I’ve never liked vampires in general. A dark romance to me has nothing to do with vampires, but I still like dark romance despite it’s association with vampires, because any bad boy hottie can pull it off ;). Like Chuck Bass, hahaha!

The sexiest Count Dracula is Frank Langella in “Dracula” years ago! Just watch it once and you’ll agree. The dreamiest eyes, the hungriest lips, the most beautiful hair, oh yeah. Now that’s a vampire!!

    • Rita
    • November 13, 2011

ERIC!!! From True Blood, he makes me swoon in both the book and the movie.

I enjoy vampire books of all kinds Dracula to the Vamps in the Anita Blake books, and Sookie Stackhouse!

    EDWARD….”you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you”….

    • Christy

Jean Claude from the Anita Blake series. Handsome, Dangerous, Romantic, Frustrating and Sexy. A vampire to highten all your senses and emotions.

    • November 13, 2011

Hmmm…a lot of sexy vampires named already.
My tastes might be a bit less mainstream as I like Count von Krolock from Tanz der Vampire (any version but Broadway). Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) is a musical so we get to see a variety of sexy dancing vampires singing about “seizing the night” (Carpe Noctum) and an Austrian version of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (Totale Finsternis).
The plot revolves around sneaking into a vampire ball, and a bit of role play and disguise really turns me on. Poor Count von Krolock sings about wanting to be an angel, or even the devil, but is stuck as a monster somewhere between, having killed the woman he loved and being afraid that he’ll never be able to stop this insatiable thirst. A bit of angst makes my heart grow fonder for this heartbroken man, and makes “dark romance” an appropriate term.

Rhage from the JR Ward books and definitely Eric!

  6. I would have to say “Angel” would be the only one I would even let near me. He was one sexy vampire. Other than that my real preference is my beautiful husband of 44 years. It doesn’t get any better than that!

My fav vampire date is one most people don’t know, and they’ve missed a lot. A now defunct TV series, Forever Knight, featured Nick Night, a vampire & cop – on the night beat of course – who is trying to make up for his ‘sins’ as a vampire. Does not drink human blood and is incredibly cute, handsome & totally wonderful!

  7. I really like Jody from Christopher Moore’s Bloodsucking Fiends. This book is a good funny read. http://www.chrismoore.com/fiends.html

I highly recommend it. Not only does it get away from a humorless rendition of the undead, it is so funny I almost cried reading it.

Lestat de Lioncourt would be my choice vampire as he is dark and sexy as a vampire should be. He fits the part to a “T”. My second choice would be Damian on the Vampire Diaries, he too is very sexy and plays the part very well, good and bad vampires!!!!!

    • November 13, 2011

Lestat, hands down. But the Lestat from the books, NOT the movie version!

    • Val
    • November 13, 2011

Ben Cross from the revial of Dark Shadows in the 90’s. Love the show and oh my my! Old school to some – but I Like!

  8. Of course, Dracula. The originals are always the best.

    • Bobbie B
    • November 13, 2011

My vote for guy vampire goes to Frank Langella in the 1979 version of Dracula. Set in 1913 England, Langella’s version of the blood-sucking Count Dracula is handsome, charming and seductive, classy, creepy, and sometimes downright exciting, and makes Mina give it up willingly. My vote for gal vampire is Lauren Hutton in the 1985 Once Bitten as a vampire Countess who needs to drink the blood of a virgin in order to keep her eternal beauty. Undead never looked so good!

    • November 13, 2011

It would have to be Barnabas Collins from Dark Shadows

  9. Who doesn’t long to be immortal? All things being considered, Lestat would be my dark romance date. He is educated, cultured, worldly and yet with a forlorn side that grabs my heart! Did I neglect to mention that he is very beautiful? I love beautiful things…

    • Linda

The bit of Dracula will lead me to this wonderful gift….of beauty and originality.

I read the Twilight books, but I thought they were pretty silly. I definitely preferred the werewolf to the vampire in the books. Would much rather cuddle hot than cold!

Like others I watched the Dark Shadows original series and was totally mesmerized by Barnabas but was in love with Quinten. I have to say that my favorite of all favorites would have to be Christopher Lee in Dracula Has Risen From the Grave… or any of the other Dracula movies he made. I think it must be his voice but he is so sexy 🙂

    • November 13, 2011

Bram Stoker’s Dracula immediately comes to mind. The love, determination & breathtaking seduction played out by Gary Oldman kept me on the edge of my seat. Barnabas, Louis, Eric & others are no slouches, either! lol

Now, I’m going to watch Annie Lenox’s ‘Love Song for a Vampire’, one of the best Love Songs ever! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhG8zC4npsE

Thanks for the contest, and good luck everybody 😀
